Technifish (aka Mike) recently took some friends and family out on the Producer out of Point Loma Landing in San Diego, CA. Fortunately, the boat lived up to it's name as they all scored some nice Tuna including this "30ish" pound Albacore taken on a fly lined live Sardine. This is just one of three landed on 30 pound mono by Mike. Where's the Ponzu sauce???

We'll let Devolution (aka Jaime) tell this in his own words: "I caught this bad little Spot on my Browning rod and reel combo spooled with 20lb. Suffix braid and fishing with a shakeyhead jig matched with a Zoom trick worm, watermelon and red flake. He weighed in at 2.6lbs and I caught him at Logan Martin in AL on a practice day before my tournament. Man, I wish I had caught him on tourney day!" Way to represent the UFC, Jaime!

The UFC's Christianfrye (aka Christian) went to Cypris Pond with his Shakespeare Ugly Stik and some live Crawdads in order to land this 4+ pound Largemouth Bass. Not sure who CF's friend is, but apparently it took both of them to lift this monster out of the water!

SoCalBassAssassin (aka Saul), one of the UFC's newest members, landed this 11 lb. 5 oz. goliath at Lake Casitas near Ojai, CA. He was fishing a Bass Pro Shops Extreme 6'6" MH fast-action rod with an Okuma Epixor spooled with 8lb. Shakespeare cajun line. The fish fell for a 5 1/2" Rapala ExTreme hard jerk bait in a black & silver shad color. Nice going, Saul ... but what happened to your sock?
Christianfrye (aka Christian) went to Troutdale for a day of Rainbow Trout action. This 18" 3-plus pounder went for five pieces of Sweet Corn. CF used a rod and reel combo that his Grandfather gave him to land this beast. Great job, Christian!
The UFC's Mike B (aka Mike), no relation to MikeyB, took his son for a morning of Trout fishing on Dixon Lake in Escondido, CA. They were using 3" Berkley Power Trout Worms in neutral, orange and green. The largest one (near Mike's right hand) tipped the scales at two pounds. Nice stringer, guys!
This Pink Snapper was caught while soaking Squid off the coast of Daytona Beach, Florida by the UFC's MstWntd (aka Rob). Looks tasty! You might recognize Rob as he was featured in the Member Spotlight section in the May Edition of the UFC Newsletter.

Devolution's hawg (same Bass in both pics) was 22" long and 16.5" around putting it at 7.5 lbs. Jaime caught him on 20lb. braid spooled on his Browning combo (6ft 6in medium heavy) using a smoke clear 5" Senko Malibu-rigged early in the morning at Mohawk Lake in Savannah, GA. We love the Mike Iaconelli impersonation, Devo!

Miss Rapala (aka Julie) caught these two LMB toads at lake Hartwell on a Pflueger President spinning reel mounted on a BPS XPS Extreme medium action rod spooled with Suffix 20lb. braid and rigged with a 4/0 Gamakatsu hook and a Malibu-rigged 5" Senko in pumpkin with black/green flakes. The first photo is Julie's 3 pound PB! Way to go Miss Rapala!!

Journeyman (aka James) submitted the following: I organized a fishing trip this past Memorial Day for my sons and their Tiger Cub Scout Den Group (Ages 6-7). Eight of the scouts and some brothers and sisters made the trip along with parents. We fished the Huckleberry Pond at the Santa Ana River Lake. We used Spider Web spincaster rod and reel combos. They were all rigged with 6 pound line with a quarter ounce sliding egg sinker behind a Carolina keeper and topped off with a size 14 treble hook. The hooks were baited with meal worms and marshmallow supplied by Mr. Emilio Cortez, the manager of the Huckleberry Pond. We also used garlic flavored Power Bait and some Power Bait Floating Trout Worms. With the help from all the parents, especially Ken S., Peter K. and Big Daddy Rob, all the kids got hooked up with a fish. The trout ranged form half pound to one and a half pound in weight. There was also a half pound catfish caught as well. There were three kids who never fished before that day and least 5 kids who never caught a fish before that day. Now, they can all say they have caught a fish. I think they will remember the trip for a long time. That's what the UFC is all about! Thanks for sharing that and keep up the good work, James.

Calibassfishing (aka Greg) landed this toad while fishing a crank bait on Lake Sutherland in San Diego. The 7 pound beast battled Greg on 12# Berkely Big Game line and a Shimano rod and reel combo.
The UFC's Carpangler (aka Eric) used some of his homemade flavored Sweet Corn bait to entice this beautiful 8 lb. 7 oz. Mirror Carp while fishing the Monongahelia River in West Virginia. Eric was using a 7' Medium heavy All Star rod, Okuma Straus XTS 55 Spinning reel, 14# Trilene XT Line with a 20# Power Pro leader into an Eagle Claw swivel , and an Owner 1/0 Mosquito hook.
Tuck (aka Richie) recently joined the UFC and wanted to share this huge Catfish with us. He used a secret homemade bait to induce this 38 inch, 30 pound beauty. It was a 15 minute battle on a medium weight spincast pole with 10 pound line before Tuck got this one onboard. Great job, Richie!
Chevshelly (aka Michelle), on the right, submitted the following: I dropshotted a 4 inch worm fishing an island top in about 12 feet of water. The 2 I'm holding are mine. One was a 6 the other was almost 4. I was fishing a Nor-cal mixed team tournament on Don Pedro Lake in California. Took first place with these baby's. Way to go, Michelle!

An old photo of Technifish with two "dinky Tuna back in the day". Hmmmm ... the look pretty tasty, though!
The UFC's Technifish (aka Mike) scored these two Bass on the way to a twenty fish day on Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, California. They were taken on a drop-shot 6" Morning Dawn Roboworm in about 25 feet of water.
As promised, Technifish (aka Mike) sent us the picture of the five pound male he scored from the same bed he caught his double digit female (below). He apologized for "being such a goofball" in the picture ... actually, we kind of liked it!
One of the UFC's newest members, Technifish (aka Mike), caught this lunker last week on Dixon Lake in Escondido, California. This female tilted the scales at 10 lbs. 6 oz. and was fooled by a white jig. Mike was using his Shimano Calcutta spooled with 12 pound test. Technifish also stuck a five pound male that day. He's promising pics of that one, too. We can't wait!

Devolution (aka Jamie) landed this Largemouth Bass at Mohawk Lake on 20 lb Suffix braid with a pumpkin seed lizard rigged weightless Texas style (we like to call that Malibu-style). Rod and reel was a 6' 6" Browning Medallion combo. The fish came in at 20" long and 15" around! According to his "friendly little fish-calculator" she weighed 5.625lbs. We concur!
Jaime used the same set-up as above while fishing Georgia's George L. Smith State Park to score this three-quarter pound brute. While this fish may not stack up in size compared to some of Devolution's other catches, he pointed out: "I'm repping the UFC! That ought to count for some extra poundage. ha-ha......". Again, we concur!
Once again, Devolution found Largemouth glory at George L. Smith State Park when this nearly 4 lb. Bass mistook his pumpkinseed/watermelon 7.5in Culprit Worm for an easy meal. Jaime was using his Browning Medallion combo Texas-rigged with a 1/16th ounce weight.
Lizbeth (aka Liz) recently scored this eight pound twenty seven inch Redfish while on the Ochlocknee River in Florida. Liz was only spooled with 8# test when the Drum ate a live shrimp. The fish just made the North Florida limit of 18-27 inches.
Although this picture is from four years ago MstWntd (aka Rob) wanted to share this 8 pound 19" beast with us. He was fishing on Ste-Anne-Du-Lac in Quebec, Canada when this Walleye attacked his red and black floating jighead baited with a nightcrawler.
Last year, Rob (aka MstWntd) returned to Ste-Anne-Du-Lac in Quebec, Canada and had this 3 pound 17" fish start an impressive stringer of Walleye. This one went for a nightcrawler attached to a Yellow/Green floating jighead.
MstWntd ended the day with this eight fish stringer of Canadian Walleye. They ranged from 2-5 pounds and 18-22". We also hear that they were quite delicious!

A recent Trout fishing trip to Lake Irvine for UFC Co-Founders Caveman and MikeyB bore fruit early when Caveman bagged this little Rainbow as the sun rose above the tree line. A Mitchell ultralight, mounted with a Daiwa Exceller, and loaded with 4 pound Trilene, was more than enough to subdue this monster. ;-)
MikeyB landed his personal best Rainbow Trout when this 4 pound beauty fell for his Power Mouse (Power Bait and Power Worm combo). He was fishing with his Shakespeare Ugly Stik ultralight paired with a Shimano Sedona reel spooled with 4 pound mono. While we usually catch-and-release, Lake Irvine does not allow you to release their stocked Trout. Dinner was good, though! ;-)
Jamie, or Devolution as he's known around here, subdued 2 Redfish and 4 Black Drum out on Skidaway Island in Georgia. He was soaking a live Shrimp on a medium-heavy Shakespeare combo for his impressive stringer. These were the two best with the Red coming in at 8 pounds while the Drum more than doubled-up at 16.5 pounds. Nice going, Devo!
Apparently, the UFC's AWMiller also caught some Black Crappie on his trip with BigCrappie.com guide Chuck Rollins. This 15" two pound slab was suspended in about 13' of water near a submerged tree when Alan stuck him with the exact same set-up he used on his big catfish (pictured below).
This 25+ pound kittie fell for a chartreuse Blakemore Crappie Thunder jig fished by the UFC's AWMiller (holding the rod) on an ultra-light Shakespeare Ugly Stick and Shimano Sienna reel spooled with Mr. Crappie 6-lb test line. BigCrappie.com guide Chuck Rollins is hoisting Alan's Flathead Catfish caught during a guided Crappie trip on Cedar Creek Reservoir located in East Texas.

UFC member "Lizbeth" and her fishing buddy Larry caught this 30" Redfish while fishing the Ochlocknee River in Florida this past weekend. Larry was using a shrimp when the lanky Red hit.
This fat 43" Muskie gave the UFC's MuskieHunter a real tussle when he inhaled a white Magnum Bulldawg. Todd was casting with braided line on a St. Croix combo while seeking his prey fishing Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota.
A sweet 100lb Bluefin Tuna was caught on the southeast tip of Stellwagon Bank near Provincetown, MA by UFC member Dave (aka Dfran). The 48˝” bullet fell for a dark squid rig with a white stinger trolled on 50# test.
On the same 4 day trip, Dfran landed this 30" Bluefish off Lone Rock, between Nomans Island and Menemsha Harbor near Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Dave was using an ugly stick and live bait - Menhaden Shad “Pogies”.
This 29 pound King (Chinook) Salmon was dethroned by UFC's "Angling Esquire" Barry while fishing the Tasu Sound in Vancouver, British Columbia. He used 25 lb test Trilene on a single-action Abel reel. Nice fish, Barry!
UFC Team Member CaptainHarlan and his crew took down this Bluefin Tuna aboard his 60' charter boat "Gallilean" while fishing the Outer Banks. This monster inhaled an 18" squid in about 200 feet of water right around midnight. A Penn 50SW on a Seeker 6455XXH loaded with 100# Berkley line, 250# flourocarbon leader and a 16/0 Mustad circle hook were used to subdue this 207 pounder.
UFC member Liz (aka lizbeth) gave up her weekend of fishing for some fun scalloping action. She promises to make up for it this weekend. All we can say is YUMMMMMMM!
Mikey B was working a Watermelon Senko rigged Malibu-style when he enticed this three pounder to strike from the shoreline of Goose Poop Beach. Tread carefully, buddy!
13 year-old Sadie nabbed this 3+ pound Largemouth, and another 2 pounder, on a Carolina-rigged purple Roboworm. Although, this was only her 2nd time fishing, she refused to take the "easy" way out by using live worms.
Russ, aka The Oracle, landed this 4 pound beauty using a Watermelon Senko fished Malibu-style (ie. weightless Texas-rig) on a Daiwa D-Shock combo spooled with 6lb mono.
MikeyB caught this four pound lunker while working a weightless 5" Yamamoto Senko in Watermelon/Black Flake under the docks. He nabbed three others, all over two pounds, using the same technique.
Michael, 4 years old, caught his first fish on a nightcrawler he dug out of his front yard! We're not sure if he had more fun catching the fish or the worms!
Michael's second fish was this 3lb monster he casted, hooked and landed all on his own! This bucketmouth fell for a 5" wacky-style Roboworm in motoroil.
UFC Team
member Mark (aka Caveman) bagged this 3+ pounder from the shore of Lake
Sherwood. He used a Texas-rigged 5" Yamamoto Kinami Bait Flash in Junebug.
